Peanut & Hank

A few months back we adopted peanut the dachshund terrier mix. We couldn't be happier with her. She was a perfect addition to our household and she is the best dog anyone could ask for!

I just wanted to send a quick note to let the TCHS and staff know how our little bundle of joy is doing.

We adopted Lambeau (formerly Jasper - you can tell we have a Packer fan in the house!) in February of 2013. We toured the shelter and fell in love with him right away. We knew he was the one because we couldn't stop talking about him after we left. A few days later, we made arrangements to make him ours. We couldn't wait to bring him home! Who could say no to this little fluff ball?!?!

Jasmine & Racer

p5180509Thanks again for letting us bring Jasmine home!

I think she misses all of you because she heads straight for the farthest corner of the yard each time we go out and I asked my husband why he thought she did that. He said that was the direction to St. Cloud!

She loves to play outside in the big, fenced-in yard and lay in the sun. She especially loves playing with Racer!

p4230449 I'd love to say she is doing awesome, yet she is still very nervous about people. She goes in and out of the house on her own. She loves to follows around and has to know what we are doing. We hope that one day, she will be in our laps and wanting to be held. Until then, she has a safe home and lots of space to run and play.

jasmine_smiles_for_picsWe will continue to be patient and loving toward Jasmine and Racer. We
also understand she may never be the kind of dog who wants to be in your
lap at all times. We are OK with that, but we are also willing to keep
trying and doing the best we can. She has come a long way and is very
curious about people. Racer has definitely helped as well.
We love both of these furry friends and they definitely found their forever home.

Thanks again from all of us,

Doug & Nancy, Jasmine, Racer, Roxy (the senior dog) and Missy the cat.

UPDATE: 6/20/2012

Another 1st we'd like to share about Jasmine and her bff Racer. They went on their first camping trip to Two Harbors, MN and they both did great!

Jasmine now actually comes when she is called and we have been working on walking her on a leash. We started by letting the leash drag as we took Racer on walks around the block. Jasmine still freezes when she feels any tension on the leash, yet is excited to go with us when we venture out.

Jasmine has been a long and rewarding work in progress and we love each and every first, from the first time she made and retained eye contact, to the first wag of her tail, to the first time in our bed and now, camping!

We enjoy sharing her progress with all of you who first cared for this beauty!

Thanks again for all you do!

Doug & Nancy

Wyman and Gloria Nelson dote over their new family member, Tia, on Tuesday in their St. Cloud home. Suffering from dental disease, all but four teeth had to be pulled. Tia spent more than two months in the Tri-County Humane Society. (Kimm Anderson, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)

After nearly two months in the Tri-County Humane Society, Tia, a nearly toothless cat, was adopted Tuesday.

Her new owners, Wyman and Gloria Nelson of St. Cloud, watched as the black-and-white cat meowed and explored her new pad — a comfortable patio home in St. Cloud.

“She checked out every room and closet,” Wyman Nelson said.
