We’ve often said we don’t play favorites at Tri-County Humane Society when it comes to our animal guests. However, it’s undeniable that the longer they are with us, the more attached we get. There are a few long-term residents who stick with us long after they’re adopted.
Today’s story is about one of those animals. Bubby, a 1-year-old cat, came to Tri-County Humane Society as a stray in February. She arrived with a pretty severe upper respiratory infection that took longer than usual to clear up. Then, just as she was getting better, Bubby developed a skin infection. Bubby spent some time in foster care to recover, then returned to the shelter in good health. She quickly became a staff favorite because she was so sweet and outgoing. Bubby got adopted in late April, almost three months after she arrived at the shelter, and her new family loves her very much.
“She can sense our moods, like if we’re feeling sad and need extra cuddles," her family shared. Bubby also lives a more adventurous life now. “We got her a harness with a leash, and she absolutely adores being outside with it! (She’s too fast for us to not keep her leashed. Ha!) She loves toys that encourage her ‘hunting skills.’ ”
We hope you keep exploring, Bubby – and your TCHS friends are so happy for you!!
