Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Duke

This adoptee is a watchdog of sorts – he likes to alert his humans to any alarms going off by nose-booping and licking them!

The 2-year old German Shepherd mix we called Vincent arrived at TCHS as a stray in early March. He was adopted by the end of the month, and the newly named Duke has been adjusting quite well!

“He’s starting to put on some healthy weight now - he has quite the appetite!” his human shares. “He enjoys playing with his brothers King and Otis. We have found that he LOVES squeaker toys and ‘chomping’ on water.”

Duke even got to visit a rural area – “we brought him to meet our parents, and he was able to chase some chickens around.” But Duke has a soft side, too – “he’s definitely the biggest cuddle bug.”
