Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Darcy, now Lullaby

It can be a fun experience watching an adopted pet adjust to their new home. Sometimes it can take a bit of time for them to feel comfortable – but when they do, watch out!

The cat we called Darcy came to TCHS in late October 2023. She was adopted in early December that same year. Her name is now Lullaby, and she’ll be 5 years old this year.

Lullaby went from being super shy shortly after her arrival home to, well, definitely not shy.

“She now is very vocal, loves treats, and demands belly rubs before bedtime,” her human writes. “Thank you for taking such great care of her in transition.”

Oh, and Lullaby definitely enjoys some of the finer things in life. “She also likes to go to Starbucks for the pup cups.” Who says dogs get to have all the fun?
