Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Ember

This adopter says she thinks her pup proves that “rescue is the best breed!” (We can’t say we disagree.)

Ember the Lab Retriever puppy came to Tri-County Humane Society in late June to find a new home. Her stay at the shelter lasted a few weeks, although she did get a field trip with a volunteer toward the end of her stay because she was getting a little cabin fever. She found her home in mid-July, and she is adjusting very well with her humans and pet siblings.

“She loves to run and play, but also just lay her head on our laps and realize she is at home,” one of her humans writes. “She has discovered water and loves it, and can’t get enough of tennis balls that squeak. She is working on controlling her big noodle legs and realizing she is a 55-pound puppy!”

Ember will turn 1 later this fall – we know will continue to discover new things and spend quality time with her family!
