Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Larry, now Marty

TCHS alumni - like this pup - can go on to do great things!

The Golden Retriever puppy, then known as Larry, came to the shelter with his siblings, Lenny and Logan in March 2023. He was adopted only days after his arrival. His name is now Marty, and he recently accomplished an impressive milestone!

Marty went through training and passed his therapy dog test in November 2024. This January, he started working at the St. Cloud Hospital. But life’s not all serious business for this dog. “We adore his goofy personality,” his human writes. “He is obsessed with balls and playing with his canine sister.”

His human is, of course, proud of what Marty has achieved.

“Thank you again, TCHS, for saving animals like Marty – they can do great things!”

Work hard at the hospital, Marty!
