Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Knuckles, now Bruce Quillis

This adoption story is about a little dude who may be prickly on the outside but is goofy-fun on the inside! The 1-year-old hedgehog we knew as Knuckles came to TCHS in September; he got a new home and a new, blockbuster-worthy name two days later.

“We named him Bruce Quillis, after the grizzled, wise-cracking action star, because he likes to act like such a grumpy, tough guy at first, but then quickly does something brave or silly.” His personality is really starting to shine in his new home. “Bruce enjoys long, leisurely walks on his wheel, snacking on veggies, especially bell peppers, and stealing hair scrunchies.”

We’re so happy that Bruce is now the star of his new home, we can only say, “Yippee ki-yay!”
