Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Leap, now Cookie

This adoption story is about a tiny TCHS alum who is loved big time in his new home! The guinea pig we knew as “Leap” came to TCHS twice before he found the right fit. The 1-year-old piggie spent about six weeks at the shelter his second time here before he met his new family. During Leap’s stay, we promoted the heck out of him, even having him cosplay as a TCHS office worker and animal caregiver! This little guy found his home in January – and the newly named Cookie is living a sweet existence.

“He gets a lot of attention from everyone here, including our other pets. Our Cavapoo is especially protective of him.”

We talk a lot about the human-animal bond, but there's something to be said for animal-animal bonds, too! Congratulations, Cookie and family!
