We are feeling the love today with this adoption story! We especially love it when breeds that historically have had a negative reputation prove people wrong by being the biggest, sweetest, squishiest babies! One such dog is Odie a burly, beefy Pit Bull Terrier mix who came to Tri-County Humane Society as a stray in mid-November. The 1-year-old pup was adopted in early December and fits in great with his new family, including his doggie and feline siblings.
“He is definitely finding his voice here! His hidden guard dog talent is kicking in - now he lets us know when he hears something out of the ordinary.” But not to worry – he’s “definitely our big baby and a world-class snuggler, and, of course, he thinks he’s lap dog.” He likes to snuggle in bed – although he’s been known to steal spots. “And when he watches me in the kitchen preparing food he makes a silly little whiney noise with a soft bark, hoping I'll drop something, LOL.” Odie is overall doing great – but “we’re still working on leaving mama’s shoes alone.”
This breed is making a comeback in the best ways possible, and we're seeing more and more of them at TCHS. If you need help getting over your reservations, come visit us and see for yourself just how loveable they can be. And bring your Valentine, too!
