Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Lizzy

The subject of this adoption story is living a great life: We’re talking trips to the dog park and the doggie spa, as well as getting plenty of time with her new humans. Lizzy - a 3-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix who came to Tri-County Humane Society in July - spent some time in foster care as part of our Adoption Ambassadors program. Lizzy found her home in September.

“She loves going to the dog park and playing fetch, and she loves meeting the other doggies,” her human wrote, noting that Lizzy recently got groomed and got high marks for being a very good girl during her appointment. “She loves her morning and afternoon walks but she likes the end of the day the best because she can cuddle with mom!”

Shameless plug: We always need more foster volunteers, particularly Adoption Ambassadors who are willing to house pets like Lizzy for extended periods so they don't have to wait in the shelter for the right home. If you are interested in fostering, apply here or email us at fostercare@tricountyhumanesociety.org.
