Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Rowdy

Sometimes it takes a little extra time for a TCHS animal to find the perfect fit. Rowdy, a 5-year-old Border Collie, came to TCHS with his sister, Rita Mae, in mid-October. Rowdy made it clear he preferred to go to a Rita Mae-free home. (His sis liked to boss him around!) Rowdy was such a good boy as he waited patiently for more than a month to find his home. That might not sound like a lot, but TCHS’ average length of stay for dogs is around eight days. Luckily for Rowdy, the family he got was more than worth the wait! (As for Rita Mae, she was adopted the day after Rowdy.)

“Rowdy has been such a gentle giant since we brought him home. He loves to be outside and watch all the little critters running around. He also loves to play with any dogs - all dogs. He bows down and gets all wiggly excited trying to get another dog to play back.”

Rowdy is “super smart” and can figure out any puzzle treat his family gives him. He’s also been a great companion to his older doggie sibling, Moose.

“He gives him little kisses and checks in with him often when we are out and about. He's been a perfect addition to our family.”

Good boy, Rowdy! We're so happy for you!
