Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Ike

Tri-County Humane Society tends to have more medium-sized or bigger-sized dogs in our care. (Yes, we get small dogs, but they get adopted so quickly!) We were so happy to receive this adoption story about one of the biggest canine guests we’ve had in recent months.

Ike is a 4-year-old Mastiff mix who arrived at the shelter in early December 2023. About one month later, the 106-pound gentle giant found his new home.

“Ike has been a great addition to our family! We have two small female dogs, Snowy (mini poodle) and Jetta (Olde English Bulldogge) and he towers over them, but it hasn't stopped them from playing relentlessly together and taking long naps or basking! We couldn't be happier with choosing your facility to adopt from, and couldn't be more pleased with the handsome gentleman we adopted!”
