Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Greg

There are countless reasons to adopt an adorable young dog – and having a great ice-breaker is one of them!

Today’s Feel Good Fur-day subject was submitted by a couple who is newer to the area.

“Before adopting Greg, we had just moved to Minnesota from Utah and felt like it was time to get a sweet fur baby! Since getting Greg we have had such a full life, and he made the adjustment easier because nothing sparks up a conversation with a new stranger like a cute pup!”

Greg is growing up before his humans’ eyes; he was adopted in June 2023, and now he’s about to turn 1 year old.

“Greg is so loved and has made so many friends with dogs and humans alike. … Every morning Greg greets us with a big stretch and endless cuddles.  Whenever one of us gets home from work he loves to 'chat' and he does the cutest grumbles and whines that convey how excited he is to have us home!”

That’s another reason to adopt – someone’s always happy to have you arrive home!

“Dogs don’t rationalize; they don’t hold anything against anyone; they don’t see color or ethnicity; they simply live from moment-to-moment loving life!” - Robert J. Lunte
