Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Zazu

Bottle baby kittens are among the most vulnerable of TCHS’ little guests, and we’re lucky to have a fantastic foster care team that cares for these little ones. This adoption story is about a former bottle baby who has grown up into one playful little guy.

Zazu and his tiny sibling came to the shelter in April; they spent time as bottle babies in a foster care home to grow big and strong (and ready for adoption)! The little guy was adopted in June. His family kept his name, and says the now 5-month-old kitten is the “sweetest, most lovable kitty ever”.

“According to my boys, they didn’t choose him, it was a mutual choosing and Zazu did the choosing, too,” they write, noting that Zazu has both sweet and spicy sides. “He loves attacking any bug that ventures in the house and takes his role as defender very seriously.”

"The problem with cats is that they get the same exact look whether they see a moth or an axe-murderer."  Paula Poundstone
