Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Elvis, now Arthur

This hound dog is definitely not crying all the time – because he has a fantastic new home!

Elvis, an almost 3-year-old Beagle mix, came to the shelter in early November looking for someone to love him tender. He was adopted four days later, and he has a life fit for the king!

Now named Arthur, this pup has a Beagle brother named Yoshi and two kitty siblings whom he adores.

“He plays so much with his new Beagle brother, both with toys or just wrestling,” his human writes. Arthur also loves sitting on a blanket on a human’s lap, going for car rides, eating treats, and “following his kitties around trying to sniff their butts.”

We are so glad this pup “left the building” and found a family who couldn’t help falling in love with him. Rock on, Arthur!

"Because of the dog’s joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. Mary Oliver
