Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

BoJack

This adoption story took a little bit to find his right fit – but, as is often the case with shelter pets, it was worth the wait!  BoJack is a gentle giant who was adopted after a little more than a month wait. Good homes happen to those good dogs who wait! I think that’s how the saying goes…

“BoJack is settling in perfect! He’s a hard sleeper and a LOUD snoring machine. He has shown that he is clumsy and bumps into everything, but to be fair, he’s learning a whole new home. …We’re working on leash manners although he’s already pretty great. He has also learned to give a high-five, and we’ve brushed up on ‘lay down,’ ‘stay,’ and a few others. He’s a very quick learner, and the sweetest boy! He’s also learning about his new cat friends and that they don’t want to play with him and his toys. Poor guy.”

BoJack’s favorite is a stuffed cow toy that he likes to offer to the cats – they are not impressed and ignore him, leaving him a little miffed! He also is a big fan of bath time.

“BoJack is absolutely perfect. Thanks again to all at TCHS, you are my favorite!”

“After a time, even the dog begins to compromise with the cat.” Unknown
