Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Christian, now Chris

Laughter is important. It’s the best medicine; it helps make life more enjoyable. And, if you’re lucky enough to adopt a quirky cat, your life will be full of it. Read on for this adoption story:

“I adopted Christian, (now shortened to Chris) in the March of 2021. We added him to our household a few months after the passing of my childhood cat, who was my best friend. Chris became acclimated to our chaotic home with four humans, three big dogs, and two other cats. Chris is the sweetest, most special, and funniest cat I’ve ever met. He is beyond clingy with humans. He has a slight overbite, so he always has the quirkiest facial expressions. He loves to be carried like a baby, and is most in love with my boyfriend (his cat dad). He loves the two Labs we have, and they play with him back. He does make the hound dog uncomfortable because he chews her toenails (weird, I know). Chris has been the greatest addition to our family, and he makes us laugh every single day.”

"From here on after let's stay the way we are right now. And share all the love and laughter that a lifetime will allow." George Strait
