Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Jimmy

It’s never too late in life to make life changes – that goes for animals as well as humans! This adoption story is about a senior cat who’s getting in shape in his new home! Jimmy arrived at Tri-County Humane Society in early November 2022. At 21 pounds, this beautiful 11-year-old cat needed a home to help him meet some health goals. (One of the TCHS staffers lovingly referred to Jimmy as our “Not So Slim Jim.”) Jimmy found his home after about a month at the shelter. This “cuddly and very talkative” cat is gradually and steadily losing some weight.

“His vet is very happy with his progress!” one of his new humans reported, adding, “Jimmy is doing wonderful. He LOVES his dad the most, but does not care too much for his dog brothers. … He has quite a personality!”

“I’m not fat, I’m just so damn sexy it overflows.” Endline
