Duke

Everyone who adopts a “rescue dog” feels like they got the best one ever.

Spoiler alert: Everyone who says that is right!

Duke is a 2-year-old dog who came to TCHS as a transfer from another facility in May; he was adopted in June.

“I took all three of my kiddos in to meet Duke, and we all fell in love with him instantly, so we left with him. All of the descriptions of Duke were so spot-on; he is truly a happy-go-lucky dog who loves to just be included with anything and everything in the family. As his training gets better he will be able to join us for more public events, too!”

Duke’s family says there are many reasons he’s the best: “He's a wonderful companion dog who is motivated for training, he is doing amazing with the kiddos in our family, he is a very affectionate dog especially when it comes to licking. Riding in the cars is definitely a highlight of the day for him.”

“When an 85-pound mammal licks your tears away, and then tries to sit on your lap, it’s hard to feel sad.” Kristan Higgins
