Rufus

Tri-County Humane Society adopts out more than cats and dogs, of course, even though they’re our most popular pets in terms of numbers. The “different” animals also capture their adopters’ hearts, too! Take Rufus – a 6-month-old ferret who came in because his previous owners were moving and couldn’t bring him with them. Less typical animals tend to grab people’s attention fast, and Rufus was no exception – he was adopted within four days!  The update:

“He’s doing great! He’s gotten lots of attention and we are loving him up!” And they kept his name, Rufus. “His best friend is my daughter, Rilynn. She has him out all night every night. He plays, she holds him, brushes him ALL night, and they watch ‘Little House on the Prairie.’”
