Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Jaxson

We’ve all heard about the cats who will actually play fetch with you – some of you may even have had feline friends who are game to do so! This adoption story is about one playful kitten who just passed 6 months of age. He may be technically an adult, but he’s still keeping his human on their toes!

The kitten then known as Turtle was adopted in September 2023; now he’s Jaxson, and his days are filled with playing and cuddling. (As they should be.)

“He loves playing with his tinsel balls and giving kisses. Every morning, we play fetch. I’ll throw the ball and he’ll bring it right back to me to throw again. He also has learned he loves water!  He will curl up in the bathroom sink until I turn on the water and then play in it. A few times he has even turned it on himself and got all wet. He is quick as can be and loves to tackle your feet.  Even though he is now 8 lbs., he still likes to sleep on my shoulder.” And, perhaps the most important part: “He just turned 6 months old and has made a huge impact in my life already.”

May you have many, many wonderful years ahead of you, Jaxson!

“Cats do not have to be shown how to have a good time, for they are unfailingly ingenious in that respect.”  James Mason
