Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Veronica, AKA Ronnie

At Tri-County Humane Society, we are thankful for many things – our wonderful supporters, our staff, volunteers, fosters, and animals! (Of course, animals!) The list is long, but one of the things that is most heartening to us is when we get wonderful updates about TCHS animals who took a bit to find their right match. We love it when we can share those with all of you – please enjoy Veronica AKA Ronnie’s story.

Ronnie arrived at the shelter as part of a transfer from Leech Lake Legacy in early May 2023; she was adopted (and then returned – twice) before the third time, which was truly the charm for her.

“She keeps our Husky active with her hyper-chaotic energy. Even with all of her running around the house she enjoys cuddles and naps! Her favorite game to play is tug o' war with one of her many ropes. She's learning to play fetch and has a big fenced-in yard that she can run around in every day. She brings so much joy to our small family, and we absolutely love her.”

We know Ronnie is as thankful for her family as they are for her. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

"There is always, always something to be thankful for." Unknown
