Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Freydis, now Freya

Summer can be a very busy time for most people (and pets)! However, there’s something appealing about a slimmed-down to-do list during warm weather. Freya, the subject of this adoption story, has a pretty reasonable list for her summer months. Last we heard, she was waiting for summertime obedience classes to start after successfully completing a few in-home lessons. Named Freydis at TCHS, this puppy was adopted after about a week at the shelter. Freya is now about 6 months old, and she’s thriving.

“She loves to play with her sister, Daisy, she loves meeting people and other dogs, and she loves to bark at things outside: Birds, cars, squirrels.”

"When it comes to training a dog, 5 minutes a day Monday through Friday is better than 30 minutes on Saturday." Martin Deeley
