Wasp, now Baylor
Here’s the buzz about today’s Feel Good Fur-Day subject: A formerly shy puppy is growing into a confident dog who’s keeping her family on their (sometimes sock-less) toes!
The mixed-breed puppy we called Wasp arrived in mid-August and was adopted about a week later. Her new family renamed her Baylor.
“When we first brought her home, she was reserved, always sat in corners facing out, wouldn’t play with toys, and seemed to cower whenever someone came towards her. Now, she is a curious, playful puppy; she wags her tail, perks her ears up, and wants to be part of the action.”
That action includes playing football with the family’s two oldest (“she’s an excellent defensive player”), wrestling and chasing with the youngest while he has giggle fits, and even going on boat rides with the family (“she swims like a champ”).
“She knows the sounds of the bus and will take off to the front door when she hears it. She can’t wait for the kiddos to walk through the front door! She loves chewing on bones and shredding any cardboard (or piece of homework) she can find. We also now have a couple books that have seen better days.”
Her family recently gave us another update about the 6-month-old pup – “Baylor is growing like a weed!” In short, Baylor loves being the center of attention. “She is fearless and curious and just a little mischievous – the number of socks she has snuck outside from the house is crazy – right under our noses!”
