Foster care continues to be a critical piece of our efforts. When an animal is too young, sick, injured or just needs someone to teach them basic manners, foster parents help fill the gap between the time the animal is brought to the shelter and the time they are adopted. Our foster program helps us save more lives!

Talk to us about being an Adoption Ambassador.

Adoption Ambassadors act as the “talent agents” for their fosters and work to find them homes (TCHS takes care of the actual paperwork). Animals who are great candidates for our Adoption Ambassador Program sometimes have difficulty adjusting well in the shelter and simply need a change of scenery. They are still advertised for adoption on our website, but get to live in luxury with a foster family until a great match is found. Let us know if you're interested in this opportunity!

Did you know that nearly half of all victim-survivors of domestic violence remain in abusive situations rather than leave their pets behind?

The Minnesota Pet Coalition (MNPC) is working to change that and is seeking compassionate foster volunteers in the St. Cloud area to help both people and pets find safety. Minnesota Pet Coalition is a collaboration of the Twin Cities' largest domestic violence organizations (Women’s Advocates and Tubman) and four animal nonprofits (Tri-County Humane Society, The Bond Between, Four Winds Connections, and Animal Humane Society).
