Turkeyton, now Motley
Today’s Feel Good Fur-Day subject was adopted right before winter, so his new human wasn’t sure how he’d feel about water. It turns out this German Shepherd mix absolutely loves his swim time and is super curious about frogs and turtles – although he may like the turtles a little too much!
The pup we called “Turkeyton” – he arrived shortly before Thanksgiving 2025 – is now Motley. He’s a year and a half old, and he loves living on a lake.
“I can’t keep him out of it, and the first thing he does whenever he goes in is he lays down and gets real low like a crocodile.”
Motley gets 2-mile walks – sometimes twice a day – and he always makes sure to top off the adventure with swim time. He also has plenty of hangout time with his grandma and grandpa as well as with a 14-year-old girl Newfoundland and a 6-year-old boy Doberman/Lab mix – “and they are just like brothers.”
“He is loved by so many and was welcomed into his new family very well.” We’re so glad Motley has a great life – and we hope he just keeps swimming!
