Sonic and McSniffles

The adopter of today’s Feel Good Fur-Day subjects acknowledges their stories are bittersweet. She is hopeful that readers can keep these two little ones in their thoughts as they continue to navigate health challenges.
The kittens then known as Walker and Apocalypse were part of our 94-cat intake in April 2024 from a Crosby home. They tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), which affects a cat’s immune system. (While some cats experience health effects from FIV, others do live long, healthy lives.)
A generous donor paid for their adoption fees to encourage them to be adopted together, which they were in June 2024. Walker (dark gray) is now Sonic, and Apocalypse is now McSniffles, and they are almost 2 years old.
“I adopted this pair knowing that every second with them is borrowed,” their human writes, adding that besides the FeLV challenges, both have dealt with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). However, “through all the vet visits and meds administered, I would not have changed it for the world!”
Sonic is the calm, lover kitty, while McSniffles is the little troublemaker. “They both have brought so much joy and learning all wrapped up into cute furry packages. Thank you to the donor that paid our adoption fee, and thank you, Tri-County, for saving these two amazing cats. To anyone reading this, please don’t miss out on making a difference in the lives of the underdogs and challenged animals out there. They will teach you about strength and love in ways you didn’t know. Please keep these two amazing cats in your thoughts and prayers.”
