The beginning of Rumi’s happy new life started when his new human saw a video of kitten Rumi on our social media, two days after one of their cats passed away.

“In the video there is a lady standing next to Rumi’s little (kennel). I don’t remember what she was saying because I was looking at Rumi who was constantly meowing. The lady had her hand on the front of his enclosure and was about to walk away when Rumi reached out with both paws and grabbed her finger. He let out the biggest howl for such a tiny kitten, and it broke me.”

Four hours later, Rumi was adopted and got to meet his new sister, Chloe, almost right away. “They say that you’re supposed to separate animals to let them get used to each other, but my other cat was just as heartbroken as I was.” Chloe and Rumi quickly became best friends and even share rides in a stroller.

“Two weeks after I adopted Rumi, we moved two hours north. We went from a one-bedroom, one-level apartment to a two-bedroom two-level townhouse! The cats run all over the place and climb on everything, lol. We’re a little happy family.”

It sounds like Rumi will never need to holler for attention again!
