Rudy

Rudy came to us in December because her owner passed away. Rudy was a finicky cat and would have good days and bad days during her stay at the shelter. When Rudy was sweet, she was really sweet. When Rudy had cattitude, Rudy really had cattitude! Rudy strongly dislikes other cats, so being in the cat room alongside 30+ other felines was WAY out of her comfort zone. She was crabby, to say the least, and not presenting herself well to adopters. We decided to move Rudy to a separate area in the shelter where she wouldn’t have any kitty neighbors, which did wonders to improve her mood, but this also meant she was less visible to customers. Her description on the website included a note that she could be visited upon request, we posted her on Facebook, and then we crossed our fingers.
Rudy’s cattitude took a back seat when she was with Laura, one of our amazing animal care employees (also resident cat whisperer). If someone wanted to meet Rudy, Laura would be the one to introduce them so people would be more apt to see Rudy’s good side. Rudy stayed with us for 2 months before finding her new home.
Here is an update from her new Mom:
She is nothing like she was described: in a good way! She has shown no attitude and is super cuddly all the time. She loves her toys and is adapting well! She’s eating and using the litter box as well. She just doesn’t quite have a schedule down yet so she likes to try and play during nighttime but that will get better with time. She’s so sweet.
