Peppa Pig, now Oreo

Today’s Feel Good Fur-Day is about one of the most laid-back, sweet dogs we’ve had at Tri-County Humane Society in recent months. And she’s perfectly matched for her new role: She’s a “pet therapist” at a senior care facility!
The 2-year-old mixed breed pup we knew as Peppa Pig arrived at Tri-County Humane Society with nine puppies – yes, nine – in February. She was a transfer from another facility, and she had made such a positive impression there that her former foster checked in after Peppa came to St. Cloud to make sure she was doing fine.
Peppa then went to TCHS foster care to raise her little ones, who became stars by being the “athletes” in TCHS’ first Puppy Bowl in March. Peppa herself didn’t shy away from the limelight after her eventual return to the shelter: We had her be our model to promote our second annual Shelter Slumber Pawty because she was fine with wearing pajamas!
Peppa found her home in April. Her new name is Oreo, and she loves her weekly visits to the senior care facility. She recently entered a fashion show there, and she won “Best Tail Wag”!
“We thank you for giving us such a nice dog! She is very sweet and a people lover!” one of her new humans writes.
We knew Oreo was something special when she was staying with us – we’re so glad she’s making so many people happy.
