Peanut, now Boxer
There are so many reasons to volunteer at Tri-County Humane Society – meeting and adopting your new best friend is just one of them!
One of our newer volunteers met her match while she was going through the volunteer process. “I had been looking for a ginger/orange male kitten for a while, to no avail. Every time I would find one, it was always too late; someone would have already adopted.” (Our average length of stay for animals is only about 10 days.)
The soon-to-be adopter was visiting the TCHS cats one day in April when she spotted Peanut. “He was so cute and had this special look in his eye. I went back two days later in hopes that the ginger/orange kitten named Peanut was still there. He was, so I took his tag to the desk, and he went home with me that day.”
Peanut’s new name is Boxer in honor of his new human’s late husband’s rescue cat, who was called Boxer because of his five toes.
Boxer, who is now 9 months old, is getting along with his older sister, Bella, although there was some initial hissing.
“Boxer is quite a cute, loving little guy. He runs and plays like a ninja. He is very entertaining, and he makes me laugh a lot!” Sounds like a knockout of an adoption!
