Birds aren’t the most popular pet, numbers-wise, at Tri-County Humane Society, but our feathered alumni are loved just as much as the cats and dogs! Today’s Feel Good Fur-Day subjects are flying high!

The parakeets Knox, Soba, and Moon arrived at the shelter in mid-September and were adopted as a group shortly after. Because budgies are social animals, we like to send them home in pairs or more.

“They like to fly around the bird room and sit on the dove’s cage and look out the window. They also like eating spray millet from my hand. I don’t think Soba will ever let me handle her. But Knox and Moon are doing really well. Soba likes to sit on the swing in the cage.”

Even if Soba never leaves her cage, we know she’s singing a happy tune being in a loving home!
