Jake

I just wanted to e-mail and let you all know how Jake (formerly Carlisle) is doing. We adopted Jake from TCHS in July of 2014 when he was just a 4 month old pup. He was the last of his siblings left and unfortunately had been returned a couple times due to previous people being told that his lower jaw was “too small” and that eventually when he got older, he would need his lower canines extracted. I am happy to say that over the course of time, Jake has grown to be a very healthy and happy little guy and never did end up needing his canines removed. I think that it was fate that he was brought back to you guys so that he could find his real home with us. Ironically, my husband and I were browsing and couldn’t agree on adopting a Lab or a Dachshund and stumbled across Jake (a mix between both) that day at TCHS and immediately fell in love. Jake is now approaching 3 years old in April of 2017, and he loves life with his mom and dad, and brother Remi – a king charles cavalier/pomeranian mix who is about to turn 5 in January. Jake and Remi also recently gained a new little brother after this Christmas, Finn, who is a 1 year old dachshund/jack russell mix that mom and dad were fostering – and failed by adopting him. Jake and Remi already were inseparable but now have welcomed Finn to complete their mini wolf pack. All three enjoy napping together, taking turns licking and cleaning each others faces, running alongside each other in the yard and going on adventures. Jake had a wonderful Christmas with opening his gifts and having lots of newly acquired toys and treats. He is loving life in Omaha, Nebraska, where our family moved a little over a year ago, and his favorite places to visit are Three Dog Bakery and Spa (where he gets to pick out special, hand crafted doggie treats) and the local dog park. He also loves doing volunteer work with mom and dad, helping to foster fellow canines through Nebraska Dachshund Rescue and finding them furever homes. Jake also is very involved in the part-time family business of boarding fellow canines in our home who’s owners are going out of town. He is a friendly social butterfly and loves to comfort and help others. Thank you SO much TCHS for bringing Jake to us, and us to him. It is a match made in heaven and he is our family – we could not imagine life without him. He helps complete us. Thank you so much for all of the wonderful work that you do in helping all of our furry friends!
