Equay, now Ella
Equay, a 5-year-old Husky mix, appeared laid back and mellow during her stay at Tri-County Humane Society. She had all of us fooled – “she’s so spunky and has such a big personality. I feel like she’s a totally different dog than the one we met in the shelter that day, but in a good way,” one of her new humans writes.
Equay came to TCHS on March 20 as a transfer with her puppies. She ended up undergoing successful heartworm treatment at our shelter after testing positive for heartworm disease and exposure to Lyme disease and anaplasmosis (both tick-borne illnesses). We spotlighted her in a Raise a Paw for Vet Care campaign to recoup some of the costs from her treatment – thank you to everyone who donated!
She found her new humans almost one month to the day after she arrived at TCHS. She’s got a new name (Ella) and a new attitude!
“We say she’s like a sassy teenage girl because she talks and talks and always has something to say. Maybe someday she’ll have her own podcast or social media page to share her opinions.” (Not gonna lie; we’d follow her.)
Ella is best friends with her new Husky brother, and she gets along well with the feline residents, too.
“She loves daily walks and even likes to grab and play tug with the leash. She’s so lighthearted and fun but also such a lover. Needless to say, she’s living like a spoiled sassy queen.” It’s an enchanted life for Ella!
