Dora “the Explorer”

Facebook friends of TCHS are familiar with Dora’s story – she was at TCHS long enough that we made multiple social media posts about the sassy black cat with a secret heart of gold. Her story is epic – she was first surrendered to TCHS in 2014 because her household had too many animals. She came back and forth to the shelter two more times, arriving for what staff had hoped would be her last time in November 2017. But it wasn’t. Thankfully the right person came along and Dora was adopted in April.
An update on Dora:
“Hello! Just wanted to give you an update on Dora. It has been a week since she’s moved in with me to my parents’ for the time being post-graduation. She’s adapting very well and sleeps in the same room as my dog and I. She’s finally getting out of just my room and exploring the house as a whole. My family’s other cat, Sophie, hasn’t warmed up to her yet, but there aren’t many open displays of aggression by Sophie and none by Dora. They more or less have reached an understanding and have mostly lived in peace. She is very happy and I promise that she will remain happy and healthy. I love this cat and know she loves me.”
