Butch Goodfellow
Today’s Feel Good Fur-Day subject recently celebrated his two-year adoption anniversary! Not only that, he’s proof that even TCHS animals with health challenges can find the right match – it just sometimes takes time. Butch Goodfellow, who is now more than 6 years old, arrived for the first time at TCHS in February 2023 as a stray. He was adopted and then returned due to allergies. In between that time, Butch tested positive for feline leukemia (FeLV) and FIV, two health conditions that can affect a cat’s immune system. He found his new home in August 2023, and they recently sent this update:
“Butch has been such a blessing to me, and I am so grateful that he was at the shelter when I was ready to adopt a cat. I know he had a bit of a rough go finding a home, having been returned a couple times, but I am so grateful that happened so that he could come home with me. I love him so much, and he brings so much joy into my home. He is such a silly and eccentric cat I sometimes think he is more dog than cat. Butchie is the best little buddy I could have asked for, and I am excited to see what future adventures we go on.”
As for adventuring, Butch made the trek to Big Lake to visit his human’s parents, and he enjoys trips to Starbucks for a pup cup – or kitty cup. Butch and his human recently moved to an apartment, and Butch has adjusted like a champ. “He loves going on the patio to watch the birds and chipmunks and smell the fresh air.” Butch’s human says his health is doing great, too, despite some recent tooth extractions. “The vet said he did very well, and he kept them good company while he was there.”
Stay healthy and continue to have fun, Butch!
