Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Ingrid, now Nala

This adoption story is about a dog who has been quite busy since her adoption last October: Nala has gone to obedience classes, received plenty of pets on Halloween, and (almost) mastered house training. Good girl! Then called Ingrid, Nala arrived at Tri-County Humane Society in early October looking for a fresh start. The shepherd mix was adopted a little more than a week later. Her new family was delighted to share with us that Nala is a super-fast learner who is motivated by just about anything.

“She is a big people person,” her human writes. “She is almost fully potty-trained now and is very clear when she has to go out. She loves playing with all of her neighbor dog friends. She’s a goofball for sure, and she just graduated from puppy training!” (Nala is doing well with “sit,” “lay down, and “shake.”) The love we receive every day when we get home makes taking her out on these cold days worth it!”

They motivate us to play, be affectionate, seek adventure, and be loyal." Tom Hayden
