Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Dani, now Daphne

This adoption story is about a dog who has had one heckvua first year in her new home! The Golden Retriever mix we called Dani arrived at Tri-County Humane Society in mid-October 2021 as part of a transfer from the South. She only waited two days to find her new home, which she shares with her two humans and two cat brothers, Hemingway and Leopold. Now called Daphne, this pupper is living the sweet life:

“Right when she first got home, she plopped down on the couch and slept for basically two days straight. Now, she's healthy, fluffy, and happy!”

“She loves the dog park, rope toys, and throwing all the pillows off the bed. Daphne makes everyone smile with her signature 360-spins she does at the dog park.”

Home is where you feel loved, appreciated, and safe.  Tracey Taylor
