The Tri-County Humane Society is looking for event sponsors for our 16th Annual Wine, Kibbles & Bids benefit to help homeless animals in Central Minnesota on Friday, May 5th, 2017. The event will be held at the beautiful Gorecki Center on the College of St. Benedict campus and, as the name suggests, there will be wine and beer tasting, a lovely gourmet dinner, a large assortment of silent auction items and animals!

Wine, Kibbles & Bids is one of the Society’s biggest fundraisers of the year. The income from this event provides us with the means to spay and neuter all pets prior to adoption and provide the high standard of care that we demand for every pet at the shelter. As an independent animal shelter, we are not affiliated with the national humane organizations. We rely heavily on our community to assist us in our mission to provide quality care and adoption services for homeless animals. In 2016, support for our work resulted in 2,947 pets placed for an overall placement rate of 96%! It’s our hope that you’ll help us continue to find homes for animals in need this year with a sponsorship or donation.

Most importantly, we invite you to join us at the event! Tickets are $75 per person, or for $900 you may sponsor a round table for ten and receive preferred reserved seating with company signage on your table.

Sponsorships must be approved and confirmed by March 31, 2017, silent auction items must be received by April 23, 2017, and the deadline to purchase tickets is Monday, May 1, 2017.

Our mailing list consists primarily of people in Central Minnesota.  It goes out to a minimum of 6,000 households and is also published on our website.  Advertising in our newsletters is a great way to show the local community that you support our work for animals in need.  For pet-related business, your Ad will be viewed by a very targeted market of pet owners, and you can't beat the price!

Our first newsletter in 2017 will be mailed in March.  The deadline to have your Ad included is March 1st, 2017.

All Dogs on Quarantine!

On Saturday, February 18th, a puppy from a litter of 6 that was transferred to our shelter from northern Minnesota tested positive for Canine Parvovirus. This litter was too young to be adopted out, so it was placed in foster care and did not enter any of the dog kennel rooms in our shelter, but they did receive vaccinations and exams in our exam room. As a precaution, despite our thorough disinfecting protocol after each exam, we will be placing all dogs on a minimum 14-day quarantine because of the highly contagious nature of this virus.  After 14 days, we will test all of the dogs in our care for Canine Parvovirus. Our hope is that all of the dogs will test negative and that we will be able to resume adoptions following this 14 day period.

We are accepting donations to help us cover the costs of the parvovirus tests and the care of all of our dogs while they are on quarantine. Thank you for wanting to help! Your moral and financial support is appreciated!  DONATE NOW

NOTE: The litter of puppies is being transferred to another animal welfare organization that specializes in treating dogs with Canine Parvovirus. This virus is very dangerous and often deadly for puppies, but they will be in good hands and we are confident that this is their best chance for survival.




Chili and Bloody Mary Taste Off! Who got Best In Show?

Who makes the best Bloody Mary in the area? How about the best chili?

The results are in!  Best in Show Chili was awarded to Cornerstone Buffet & Restaurant in Sartell and Best in Show Bloody Mary was award to The Red Carpet!

We want to thank everyone who attended our first Annual Bloody Mary and chili cook off benefit for Tri-County Humane Society this past Saturday at The Red Carpet! We raised $1,615 to help animals in need, thanks to the 140 guests who attended this fun event!

A fantastic selection of Chili and Bloody Mary entrees were provided by Red Carpet Martini Lounge​, MC's Dugout​, G-Allen's Restaurant & Sports Bar​, Old Capital Tavern​, House Of Pizza​, Lily's Wings, Burgers & Things​, Olde Brick House​, Cornerstone Buffet & Restaurant​, Cowboy Jack's​ and Howie's Sports Bar and Grill​.  We would also like to acknowledge The Place​, who had prepared chili for the contest but unfortunately had to back out at the last minute when their chili tragically hit the floor as they were getting ready to attend our event.  (We encourage you to go there and still try it out!)

Following the guest voting period, a judges panel voted on the top two finalists in each category: MC's Dugout and Cornerstone Buffet & Restaurant for chili and Old Capital Tavern and Red Carpet for Bloody Marys.  Special thanks to retired Fire Department Chief, Bill Mund, retired St. Cloud Police Department Sergeant, James Feeny, and Cathedral High School President, Mike Mullin for helping us pick the Best in Show!

Foster Homes Needed!

Foster Care Application

Foster care continues to be a critical piece of our lifesaving efforts.  When an animal is too young, sick, injured or just needs someone to teach them basic manners, foster parents help fill the gap between the time the animal is brought to the shelter and the time they are adopted.  Our foster program helps us save more lives!

Foster Homes Needed For:

  • Injured/Sick Animals
  • Pregnant Animals
  • Orphaned Animals
  • Behavior Modification
  • Overflow (during peak periods)

Greatest Need: Foster homes for cats and/or kittens that have upper respiratory infections and are in need of 2-4 weeks of antibiotic treatment.

We Provide: All pet supplies, medication, de-wormer, vaccinations and veterinary care (although donations are welcome!)

You Provide: TLC and a comfortable environment for pets to thrive.
