Re-Tail Shoppe Grand Opening

Come and visit the newly re-modeled, re-named "Re-Tail Shoppe" - your one-stop-shop for pet supplies, located inside Tri-County Humane Society.  This Friday through Sunday (August 18-20, 2017), we invite you to shop for a cause.  This is one shop where the more you spend, the better you feel, as all proceeds benefit local pets in need!  Talk about re-"tail" therapy!  To make things even sweeter, during our open house every $15 you spend on pet merchandise will earn you a chance to win a basket FULL of pet toys, treats and supplies.  *Drawing will be held at noon on Monday, August 21st.

All felines and small critters: 50% OFF!

We currently have approximately 100 cats and kittens, 3 rabbits and 2 ferrets at Tri-County Humane Society.  That's a lot of mouths to feed and litter boxes to scoop!  If you have been thinking about adding a furry friend to your life, NOW IS THE TIME!  This Friday through Sunday (August 18-20, 2017), adoption fees on cats, kittens and critters in our small animal room are all 50% off.

Book Buddies Reading Program begins at TCHS!

Book Buddies Logo webDo you have a young one who is a fan of animals in your household? What about a child who loves reading – or else needs a little practice with it?  Tri-County Humane Society is proud to introduce Book Buddies, a program geared toward helping children and animals.

Book Buddies provides a non-judgmental audience for the young readers; after all, the dogs don’t care if a word is mispronounced or if the reading is done slowly. National studies done on similar programs have shown youngsters’ reading skills significantly improve thanks to practicing with animals.

But the readers aren’t the only ones who benefit. Their presence and soothing words help calm the animals, some of whom can be stressed by being at the shelter.
